Occupy movement makes its way to Miami

Transportation made available for Homecoming events

With the majority of Homecoming Events taking place at the Modesto Maidique Campus, the Student Government Council at the Biscayne Bay Campus has decided to sponsor shuttles between BBC and MMC for the Sept. 25 Lupe Fiasco and Tinie Tempah concert; Sept. 26 Waynes Brothers Comedy Show; and the Sept. 27 National Pan Hellenic Council Step Show.

As part of the University’s homecoming week, the homecoming council is hosting its annual dance on Sept. 29 in the Wolfe University Center Ballrooms from 7:30 p.m. to 12 a.m

The tides of change have been sweeping across the media landscape since the emergence of the Internet, but never has it been as prevalent in recent times as it is due to the rise of social media in conjunction with the economic downturn of recent years.



Connecting for a cause

Finding a worthwhile cause at a commuter school isn’t the easiest of tasks when the amount of time spent on campus is limited to the duration of a class period. To fill in this void, the Center for Leadership and Service is bringing together 30 different non profit organizations to assist students in connecting with their cause of choice.


Getting involved to be showcased

Niches are found, not made. On Aug. 29, Campus Life and Student Organization Council will co-sponsor the Involvement Fair and SOC Club Fair, designed to inform the 7000 students enrolled at Biscayne Bay Campus about educational and social options that go beyond work and class.



Summer Splash brings food, fun and DJ Zog to BBC pool

Every year, Biscayne Bay Campus’ Student Programming Council likes to kick-off the academic year with a splash. SPCs Summer Splash welcomes new freshmen, as well returning students, to the FIU community by hosting a pool party.
