Former FIU first lady remembered by university president

On Monday, July 11, FIU lost one of their former first ladies, Mary Ann Wolfe who was the wife of FIU’s third president, Gregory B. Wolfe who also passed away this year. Mark B. Rosenberg on Thursday, July 14, addressed the student body in a mass email that shared the unfortunate news concerning Mary Ann Wolfe.


FIU community gathers to overcome recent tragedies

Due to recent events involving police officers, the FIU community came together to reflect on the escalation of tragedies taking place all around the world. FIU gathered to reflect on the significant horrors taking place in Turkey and Bangladesh, and also the systemic issues concerning police brutality and violence here in the United States.


SGC-MMC talks plans for upcoming year

The Student Government Association at the Modesto Maidique Campus has started the summer semester by conducting bi-weekly meetings and have already begun confirming the cabinet. Showcasing its diversity and ingenuity, President Alian Collazo shared his hopes for the newly appointed and elected team.




25 student relocations following Parkview East fire

Parkview East, a housing building at FIU, had a small kitchen fire in one of its housing units on Tuesday, May 24 around 10:30 p.m. According to a mass email sent out by FIU’s External Relations, the fire was immediately extinguished by the building’s sprinkler system and no one was reported to be injured in the incident.


FIU’s fifth annual triathlon to take place at BBC

In celebration of competitive activities at the Biscayne Bay Campus’ Wellness and Recreation Center, the City Bikes Biscayne Bay Triathlon will be hosting their fifth annual triathlon event at FIU’s BBC. FIU students and other community participants will be able to engage in a sprint distance race consisting of a 500-meter swim, 10-mile bike, 2.8-mile run.
