A Traveler’s Journey

Vienna

Vienna is a city rich with history, breathtaking architecture, interesting food, and great sights to see.

Goodbye Italy! You will be missed

Thanks to everyone for going in this journey with me and reading this blog. Now it’s time for you to get up and get over here! I promise it’s the best experience you’ll ever have.

Blog: Goodbye to the beautiful Cinque Terre, Italy. Next Stop….

Through this time, I’ve realized that I’m coming back to Miami as a different person. That I’m coming back completely changed, which means that, once I get back, a lot of things are going to change for me.

A Traveler’s Journey – Cinque Terre Hike

Yesterday we did a 20 mile hike (equivalent of 10 hours). It was beautiful. To be walking with nature and to have a view this great. It’s almost unreal.

Duomo Area – Tour of Florence

Tourism is more concentrated in Florence than in Rome or Miami, it’s still an amazing place to visit. You can’t go to Italy and not visit Florence. It’s a completely different experience. Almost like a whole other country.

FIU Honors College Studies Abroad: A day with Michelangelo

The David is the greatest sculpture ever made by a human being. And, in case you didn’t know, it was sculpted by Michelangelo. After this piece (and this is my opinion), everything else is kind of a detail. Important, but less amazing.

One Door Closes, Another Opens…

I must admit I was sad to leave Rome. I was sad to leave a place with so much history and so much belonging.

All Good Things Come to an End…

So, it’s with a very sad state that I say goodbye to my favorite city and to all the wonderful people and experiences that I’ve made.

A day in Pompeii

Pompeii is a huge archaeological site in Naples (or around there). It’s a three-hour bus ride from Rome and it was once a thriving Roman city (after Rome conquered it).

Exploring Hadrian’s Villa – Rome, Italy

It was beyond beautiful. It was beyond amazing. And I have no idea how something this perfect could even exist — let alone be preserved like this.

My History, Your History, Everyone’s History

To me, it was truly a miraculous space, where I could easily get a sense of my presence on Earth.

Reflections in Rome

The colosseum was built by Emperor Vespasian, who does what Augustus did back then: gets power by pretending that he has none (manipulating the people). In essence, he built what the people wanted: free games and entertainment for all. In fact, it was a direct way to please the people by giving them a blood sport for free.
