A Traveler’s Journey

Reflections in Rome

The colosseum was built by Emperor Vespasian, who does what Augustus did back then: gets power by pretending that he has none (manipulating the people). In essence, he built what the people wanted: free games and entertainment for all. In fact, it was a direct way to please the people by giving them a blood sport for free.

One Step Closer to Rome!

I’ve just landed in Philadelphia for a connecting flight. The good news? It was a great flight and I slept the whole way through (and I had no one next to me so you already know how comfortable I was!). The bad news? Now I have to stay inside the Philly airport for exactly 10 hours until I board for Rome.
