LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Kaplan prep courses an inadequate test resource

While I readily agree that the average student is woefully uninformed when it comes to all of the possible services that are offered by FIU, being a student here has tremendous advantages and resources that most are content to simply let that opportunity pass them by. However, it would represent a very slippery slope if the administration were to require us to use, much less take advantage any of them.

When stepping into David Fincher’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” one should be warned to leave all expectations at the door. Whether you’ve read the novel or seen the Swedish film, you’re better off being ready for a new experience instead of preparing to compare and contrast. It was a risky choice to bring a film as dark and relentless as this to American audiences, but it was a risk well worth taking.

TV on the Radio at Ricochet Lounge

TV on the Radio are veterans now and have toured throughout the world, so, naturally, they would come through some sort of maturation process in their years together. Their show at Ricochet Bar and Lounge displayed a band who had all the experience and talents of a well-groomed outfit, but the zeal of junior high school classmates playing at a talent show.
