When asked to find a sustainable and scalable social enterprise to help restore the rights and dignity of 10 million refugees by 2022, four University students created a buy-one-give-one business model for feminine products to help women in refugee settlement camps.
For many students, 2016 was a “goat rodeo,” a term describing a chaotic situation in a bureaucratic setting. For Brenton F. Alston, the term worked doubly to suit the uncertainty many felt about the election.
The Accelerated Bridge Construction University Transportation Center received another $1.4 million dollar boost from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The center is the first federally-funded entity focused on developing technology and methods to improve and accelerate the construction of bridges.
“Not only do we know that students do better academically and socially if they live on campus but the driving itself is awful and with what has just happened with Centenaro, we really want this campaign to be a success.” Dean of the Honors College Leslie A. Northup said.
Throughout the week, LGBTQA Initiatives will be hosting events to raise awareness on transgender issues starting with a tabling event on Monday, Nov. 14 and ending with a remembrance day on Friday, Nov. 18.
