Alumnus bridges FIU with U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

The partnership, the first ever between the USHCC and a public university, hopes to provide internships, jobs and scholarships for students while also creating a platform to promote the University’s research and legislative priorities nationally, according to the USHCC website.

FIU suffers first conference defeat

The two years of dominance in the Sun Belt Conference has come to a halt – at least for now.
In an attempt to initiate their Sun Belt Conference matches on a high note, FIU returned home with a 4-3 victory versus the Jaguars of South Alabama but faltered against the North Texas Mean Green in a 4-3 defeat.

Team to begin conference schedule over the weekend

Despite a shaky start to the 2012 season with losses to ranked opponents, head coach Melissa Applebaum-Dall’au and the rest of the tennis squad (1-7) look to salvage the season this weekend as they begin conference play in Denton, Texas.

FIU will be taking on the South Alabama Jaguars on Feb. 25, nearly a month after FIU earned their first victory of the year against Fresno State. Then they will face the host, North Texas on Feb. 26. The Mean Green are ranked 61st in the nation, ahead of the Panthers who are currently ranked 74th.
