Summer graduation now a “hot” commodity

Typically, there are six summer graduation ceremonies that occur. According to the Sun Sentinel, 3,500 students graduated this past summer, as opposed to 4,000 last winter and 4,300 last spring. Ivette Duarte, the interim director of Career Services, said seniors enrolled in summer A, B and C term that graduate in August face a better job market.

Summer hit shows to watch

While we expect summertime to constantly be filled with beach trips, sunny days and perfect tans, that is not always the case. However, there is one thing we can count on during the summer, and that’s television. Summertime brings us some of the best shows, both new and returning, allowing us to enjoy our summer inside the house, as much as we do outside.

Poor acting on “A Gifted Man” negates interesting plot line

“A Gifted Man” has the premise of an ingenious, arrogant doctor named Michael Holt (Wilson) who is accustomed to his upscale lifestyle. He gets an unexpected visit from his dead ex-wife, Anna Paul, who he claims to still love — you don’t see that very often.

Channel Surfing: “Once Upon A Time” puts a new spin on fairy tales

“Once Upon a Time” surprisingly enchanted audiences on Sunday, racking up 12.8 million viewers and gaining the crown for best tune-in for this season’s fall drama premiere. There is no doubt that viewers will be able to reminisce the characters that lived in a dusty fable book, but they’ve got another thing coming.

CHANNEL SURFING: Creepy Halloween episodes excite

With Halloween coming up, what could be better than a spooky lineup of shows? I have TV shows to keep me busy with all the drama – witchy drama. Shows like “Ringer,” “The Secret Circle” and “Pretty Little Liars” released Halloween episodes that will set you in the mood for the season. Something wicked this way comes.

CHANNEL SURFING: Premieres show potential

Many shows we have grown attached to are coming to an end. With the fall season in full swing, new shows with a potential for bigger impact are premiering soon. It is like TV networks have remembered that school is in session, and viewers have got their thinking caps on. Trust me, we will need them for some of these shows.

Channel Surfing: Summer finale delivered a few answers, a lot of questions

Many die hard “Pretty Little Liars” fans rushed to the TV in hopes that the Summer Finale will reveal Alison’s legit murderer and the unveil who the mysterious “A” character is. As for myself, I saw my TV box recording PLL, but I didn’t dare watch it until the last possible moment I could- like one of those great novels that soon comes to an end, I tend to procrastinate the ending. Too bad I was using so much effort to resist the Pretty Little Liars temptation (and believe me, it is one), when the show did not give away half as much dirt as I was desperate to gain.
