Theatre student preps for new role as graduate

“My dream role is to play the bad guy,” said Gustavo Dapiaggi, who is graduating with a BA in theater. Covered in tattoos and dressed to the nines, Dapiaggi looks like he fits the part.


Interpretation of classic “Nutcracker” gives back

The story is a timeless classic: a wooden nutcracker comes to life to take a little girl on a magical adventure on Christmas Eve. The tradition, however, is entirely new. The Department of Theatre and School of Music are coming together once again to recreate the magic of “The Nutcracker,” this time in benefit of theater and music student scholarships.


Artistic director talks behind the scenes

Before the director is chosen and the actors are cast, Marilyn Skow, the artistic director of the Theatre Department, has some hard decisions to make. “We only have four slots for productions, so balancing all of the considerations to produce a quality, interesting season is very challenging,” said Skow.


“The House of the Spirits” a multi-layered saga

The wild, unsettling journey of Isabel Allende’s “The House of the Spirits” is coming to the stage on Nov. 11. Based on the adaption by Caridad Svich, the play will captivate students with its tale of the Trueda family, who find themselves enveloped in a tale of magic, mystery and violence.
