While the University has seen a steady 43 percent increase in women applicants for the College of Engineering and Computing, the same can’t be said for the number of enrolled women, with the college only seeing a 23 percent increase since 2011.
New commercial-scale solar panels have been installed at the College of Engineering and Computing by Florida Power & Light Company and the University. According to FIU News, “the only solar research facility of its kind that FPL has installed at a Florida university.”
The College of Engineering and Computing celebrates its new partnership with Chevron and received a $20,000 donation.
Aside from the conference speakers, the University is showing off their work at the eMerge pavilion.
