If there’s one thing the men’s soccer team can say about their 2012 schedule, it’s that they won’t be seeing home field very often.
Head Coach Isiah Thomas has reiterated that he believes in running his offense through the forwards and centers. “We’ve gone out and recruited size,” Thomas said. “Even though our size are freshman and sophomores, we still want to play inside-out.”
One of his big men who has made an impact since entering the program has been sophomore Dominique Ferguson. At 6-foot-9, Ferguson possesses the ideal size, strength and quickness as a forward.
On National Signing Day, some highly touted recruits weigh their options up until the very last second. Most never seem certain on where they want to go until they are forced to make a decision. But who can blame them, after all, they are only 18 years old.
Smith, a senior wide receiver from Flanagan High school, has committed to be a Panther for the next four years. Head Coach Mario Cristobal had nothing but praise when speaking of Smith.
