Team focusing on bowl berth, finishing season strong

With no shot of obtaining first place in the conference, now that the team sits four wins behind Louisiana with just three SBC games to go, the focus has turned to finishing the season off strong and getting into a bowl game.




Griffin field goal lifts FIU over Trojans in overtime

Despite having four turnovers in regulation, the Panthers were able to force the game into overtime and end it on a 22-yard field from Jack Griffin in a thrilling overtime victory over the Trojans on Oct. 25, to keep hopes of another conference title alive.


Golden Panthers take advantage of much-needed rest

At the halfway point of the season, FIU is 4-2 and 1-1 in the conference play with six straight conference games remaining on their schedule. It is the best start the program has seen in its short history.


Offense, defense square off in annual Blue vs. Gold game

Fans were able to get a firsthand look at some of what they can expect to see in the 2011 football season as the Blue vs. Gold game took place on Saturday, April 2 at FIU stadium. Around 75 plays were run in the scrimmage, which ended with the offense winning the matchup 19-10.
