Eliana Martinez said she witnessed her roommate abused by her boyfriend. Nationally, one in three women and one in four men will experience some form of physical violence by a partner within their lifetime.
As its final event of the semester, the Women’s Center at the Biscayne Bay Campus will host “Lunch, Learn and Lean-In,” a forum on the changing dynamics of gender roles in society.
The University already has extensive programs in place that teach students how to protect themselves from sexual violence and offer counseling to victims, all of which are included in the cost of tuition and can be sought out at any time during the year.
