Less work, more study: University limits students to 20-hour work weeks

Starting fall 2014, student employees will be limited to 20 hours per week. This cap on student work hours comes after research by the Office of Retention and Graduation Success determined that limited work increases students’ chances of graduating in four years and achieving higher standards of academic performance.



University honors Camin’s influence on Cuban identity

The Cuban Research Institute at the University will host a special lecture honoring the Cuban poetry of Alfonso Camin on Oct. 15 at 12 p.m. in the Green Library, room 220. TIGER Grant: bringing the University and City together

A U.S. Department of Transportation discretionary grant program, called Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery 2013, appropriated $11.4 million to the University on Sept. 5.These funds will develop the pedestrian bridge that will connect the University with Sweetwater, and street improvements two blocks north and south of Southwest Eighth Street, on 109th Avenue.



The Hub: By the students, for the students

As students approach the Information and Research Services desk on Green Library’s bustling second floor and make a left, they encounter the latest upgrade to the facilities: The Hub.


Students miss their Fresh Foods

Students and patrons will have to go about their summer days at the University without Fresh Foods. The dining location is receiving a top-to-bottom renovation, scheduled for fall 2013 completion.
