Students using loans to pay for essentials

Approximately 39,000 students in the university received some type of financial aid to attend FIU, according to statistics from the Financial Aid Office. Senior Financial Aid Coordinator Fabiola Ortega said 30-35 percent of graduating students will be indebted. The average loan for an FIU student is between $15,000 to $20,000.


Food truck offers Kosher food

There is something special about the new food truck parked outside the Green Library: all the food there is certified by the Orthodox Rabbinic Board. Miro’s is the only place at the University that offers kosher food.
