Consistency issues seem to be arising for the FIU softball team at the wrong time of the season, as rival FAU came into Felsberg Field this past weekend and won all three games against the Panthers.
The sweep for the Panthers is the first sweep that FIU picked up against a Conference USA opponent since April 2014, when they swept North Texas in three games.
The Panthers took their 11-5 record on the road for the first time all season, and a short trip took them to Gainesville as they were set to be competing in the UF invitational, hosted by the University of Florida.
Kugelmann (2-0) struck out six and gave FIU an 8-0 victory. A.J Belans and Texeira both had 2 RBI’s in the win, which improved the Panthers to a 10-4 overall record.
