Fresh Food Company reopened Friday, Aug. 23 in time for move-in day, and welcomed customers into its renovated restaurant after a complete shutdown over the summer.
With a chance to start in the position where he began the season, sophomore Eric Reyes came up big for the FIU Panthers as they played the No. 25 University of Alabama Birmingham to a 0-0 draw on Oct. 29.
The Marshall Thundering Herd dominated most the game in the passing lanes and possession and were able to beat the Golden Panthers 2-1 in double overtime on Sept. 23.
FIU (2-2-2) went to their second extra time game only to tie the Jacksonville Dolphins (1-2-1) in a 1-1 contest. “This is a game we should have won. We have the better team and we are continuing to have problems finishing our opportunities,” said Coach Munga Eketebi after the frustrating tie on Sunday afternoon.
The sixth annual Bert & Iris Wolstein classic will play host to this upcoming weekend’s important matches for FIU. The team will take on Ohio State, ranked 15th in the nation, and Penn State, ranked 18th in the nation.
