First-week madness may leave University-goers in a scramble to find parking, but the Office of Parking and Transportation is offering over 2,700 additional parking spaces through January 10.
Lot 1 will close Saturday, Dec. 14, to allow for construction of Parking Garage Six.
Parking Garage Six is planned for construction west of Red Parking Garage, and set to open August 2015.

I don’t wake up at 7 a.m. for anything. I probably wouldn’t wake up at 7 a.m. if my house was burning. So I hate when I have to wake up early to go do something at FIU, and FIU isn’t even there.
It is up to you to keep track of the important dates that pertain to your success at the University, especially after being given the information on several occasions.
With only three months until Dec. 21, FIU students need to be as prepared for the apocalypse.
Go out and vote in November. Trust us, it won’t kill you.
Imagine rushing to get to the shuttle in the morning, panting while your card is swiped for the fare, then looking for a seat and finally, by some stroke of luck, finding one; only to see bags on it.
As University students we still worry about our grades, but most of us have forgotten that dreadful feeling of revealing a report card to our parents every nine weeks.
