Hilton ready for upcoming NFL draft

The NFL draft is the final product of a collegiate athlete’s career. There is no more work to be done. Players can only answer questions from General Managers and Scouts about what they can bring to their respective team. For T.Y. Hilton, he knows that he has left everything on the table.

Defense shines bright as quarterbacks struggle

As the spring practice started to get under way, redshirt sophomore Jake Medlock began taking some shots behind the line of scrimmage, even though he was wearing the red jersey which signifies no hitting permitted.

Annual spring game to showcase new talent

With the end of the semester fast approaching, so is the end of spring practices. Players are scrambling to try and wrap up their semesters with grades and the final week of practice. But with that comes the last chance before summer workouts to prove to head coach Mario Cristobal and the rest of his staff that they deserve playing time next year.

2012 FIU Football Schedule

This upcoming season, the FIU football team will see many familiar faces as well as some that nobody has seen before. In preparation for the season, the 2012 schedule has been released and it goes as follows:

NSD: Patrick Jean picks FIU over Louisville

On National Signing Day, some highly touted recruits weigh their options up until the very last second. Most never seem certain on where they want to go until they are forced to make a decision. But who can blame them, after all, they are only 18 years old.

NSD: Jeremiah McKinnon add depth to FIU secondary

The three-star recruit started his football career at the age of three for the Miami-Optimist Richmond Giants. He then expanded his game to Miami Southridge Senior High School. Jeremiah McKinnon has kept his talents in Miami and signed to FIU.

NSD: Jeremy Smith signs with FIU

Smith, a senior wide receiver from Flanagan High school, has committed to be a Panther for the next four years. Head Coach Mario Cristobal had nothing but praise when speaking of Smith.
