On-campus drug use on the rise

Enrollment statistics show that between 2010 and 2012 the total undergraduate enrollment went up by 14 percent. However, liquor law referrals doubled, and drug and alcohol related arrests tripled on the Modesto Maidique Campus.


Students to auction art in support of breast cancer

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is sponsoring an annual art show to raise awareness about late stage breast cancer detection, named the The Mammography Art Initiative 2013. It will be held at the Bakehouse Art Complex in the Wynwood Art District on Oct. 5, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. General admission is $20 and $5 for students.


UPD reports lower crime rates

Forty-two arrests, 49 thefts, 40 traffic citations and nine burglaries have been reported by the University Police Department since the beginning of summer C.


Men’s and women’s team finish 7th at USF Invitational

With a score of 177 points, the men’s team finished in seventh place in the eight kilometer run. The Golden Panthers’ women’s team also finished in seventh place in the five kilometer run with 182 points in the University of South Florida Invitational in Tampa.


Cross Country to kick off their season at FGCU

The Golden Panthers men’s and women’s cross country teams begin their season on Sept. 2 in Fort Myers as they will participate in the Florida Gulf Coast University Invitational. It will be the Golden Panthers first time participating in the invitational.
