Panthers return home to face Brown

Fresh off a 5-2 victory over Sun Belt foe and rival, Florida Atlantic University, FIU (5-12) will look to keep up their winning ways against Ivy League standout, Brown University. The Bears strolls into South Florida and will do to battle against the Panthers on March 30 at the FIU Panther Tennis Center. The match time is slated for 1pm.

FIU suffers first conference defeat

The two years of dominance in the Sun Belt Conference has come to a halt – at least for now.
In an attempt to initiate their Sun Belt Conference matches on a high note, FIU returned home with a 4-3 victory versus the Jaguars of South Alabama but faltered against the North Texas Mean Green in a 4-3 defeat.

Team to begin conference schedule over the weekend

Despite a shaky start to the 2012 season with losses to ranked opponents, head coach Melissa Applebaum-Dall’au and the rest of the tennis squad (1-7) look to salvage the season this weekend as they begin conference play in Denton, Texas.

FIU will be taking on the South Alabama Jaguars on Feb. 25, nearly a month after FIU earned their first victory of the year against Fresno State. Then they will face the host, North Texas on Feb. 26. The Mean Green are ranked 61st in the nation, ahead of the Panthers who are currently ranked 74th.

Roundup – Tennis team swept; basketball hits road for UALR

The weekend didn’t go quite as well as coach Melissa Applebaum-Dall’au and her team would have liked it. At the Lady Raider Shootout in Lubbock, Texas, the Panthers fell to 1-9 on the season after getting swept 0-3 in the three day tournament.
