Homecoming is offering students a variety of events

As you may have noticed, the University has decorated its campuses in blue and gold, reflecting this year’s homecoming theme “Unleash the Spirit,” in anticipation of Homecoming week, which is fast approaching.

Up close and personal with trainer for Lose It program

After a hard workout by one of the Lose It personal trainers at the Recreation Center, Student Media sat down with trainer Ilyas Hamid, a junior majoring in dietetics and nutrition. He has been involved with the Lose It program since fall 2011 and a personal trainer for over a year at the University. He discussed how he became a personal trainer as well as his involvement with the Lose It program.

REC Center helps students and staff lead healthy lives

On Sept. 4, contestants in the Lose It program offered at the Rec Center entered an intensive 12-week program to try to lose weight for this semester. This includes three days a week of group personal training at times suitable to participants’ schedules. Their exercise regiment will be regulated by staff that are “Biggest Loser” qualified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
