I was happy to attend the FIU Panthers’ first home game of the year against N.C. Central, which was a great victory for the team but I was unfortunate enough discover a major logistical flaw following the victory which led to a very unsafe situation for many of the people attending the game.
The University Homecoming Day is Saturday, Oct. 18, with the annual parade and tailgate before the Panthers take on the Marshall Thundering Herd at 7:30 p.m. in the Alonso Field at FIU Stadium.
“Tailgating 101,” a tabling event taking place from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 in the Graham Center, will teach students these responsibilities and how to optimize their safety by making right decisions on their day of tailgating.
