Panthers hack their way to third place in PayPal’s Battle Hack

Team RefreshMiami, composed of young entrepreneurs – including Joshua Martinez, a senior in computer science, and FIU alum Peter Martinez and University of Virginia alum Brian Breslin – took third place with their idea called PawPal alongside Davide Di Cillo, an Italian technologist and designer who is rooted in the Miami technology scene.


REC Center helps students and staff lead healthy lives

On Sept. 4, contestants in the Lose It program offered at the Rec Center entered an intensive 12-week program to try to lose weight for this semester.

This includes three days a week of group personal training at times suitable to participants’ schedules. Their exercise regiment will be regulated by staff that are “Biggest Loser” qualified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.


FIU’s Lose It program designed to help students live a healthier life

If one of your goals for this semester is to become healthier and lose weight, then there is a program called Lose It at the FIU Rec Center designed for you. This 12-week program consist of mandatory three days a week group personal training session, a metabolic test and a biometric nutrition program. This program is open for students, faculity, staff and alumni.
