“The Amazing Spider-Man” swings into theaters

Five years after the last Spider-Man film (part of Sam Rami’s trilogy), Sony Pictures has released “The Amazing Spider-Man,” a reboot directed by Marc Webb. This film takes us back to the origins of Peter Parker while he’s still a high school student, dealing with teenage angst, bullying, and school girl crushes. In fact, there isn’t too much superhero action going on, but it ends up working in the film’s favor.
