Sand Volleyball to begin in 2013, new courts to be built

Coinciding with Tomic’s departure was the announcement of women’s sand volleyball being added to FIU. The program is set to begin competition in spring 2013 at NCAA Division I level. According to the American Volleyball Coaches Association, there are currently 17 programs of sand volleyball in the nation. FAU and FSU already have established programs.
