Dolphins scrimmage at Ocean Bank Field

The night of August 7th was a night to be remembered at FIU as the Miami Dolphins came to town. Despite the traffic, parking issues, brutal hot weather, and a little lightening delay, 16,407 diehard fans were in attendant for a little bit of Offense Vs. Defense scrimmage.

Fans from all over South Florida showed how dedicated and excited for this coming NFL season for the Miami Dolphins. Well of course we can’t forget who was the main attraction. The Dolphin’s block buster free agent  signed Ndamkong Suh made his mark when every time he made a play, Fins Nation yelled out “SUH” once he got off blocks and chased starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill.  At the end of the scrimmage he went on to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans. He enjoyed playing at University again as he compared  that night with his college days at University of Nebraska. “It was fun and exciting; it was a blessing for some from the neighborhood embraced especially playing in Nebraska; they had a great community there and I’m excited to be playing in South Florida and getting to know all my fans. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity.” Suh said during the media conference.

At the end of the game, the Dolphins interacted with their fans and families who were in attendant. Selfies all around, autograph signings and fireworks to end a remarkable evening at FIU. The Dolphins first pre-season game this coming Thursday against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Their opening season game starts away against the Washington Redskins.
