Coming into the Stetson Beach Invitational, the Panthers were ranked No. 10. Surely, after four consecutive losses, they will fall out of the top 10 for the first time this season.
After losing to the Louisiana State University Tigers in its previous event, the University beach volleyball team traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Saturday, March 12, and Sunday, March 13 for a rematch.
“I saw fierceness and a lot of heart [today]. Yesterday, I saw a lot of fear, and that gets you nowhere,” said Head Coach Rita Buck-Crockett.
Last season, Toghiyani led the team in wins, finishing with a 23-3 record. A similar year can have her sitting alone at the top with the most wins in program history.
“I would like to place first in the nation. I would like to keep our team first in the East Coast. I would like to win all of my games,” Cupp said.
