Interim General Manager celebrates 30th anniversary

By Alex Candia

I think anyone that loves music should join The Roar. The whole station is one big family that’s brought together by a mutual love for music. With an ever growing selection of music to listen to, you’ll never get bored listening to The Roar.

We offer an experience no other FIU organization can provide. We allow you to find your inner “radio show host.” I can speak from experience when I say that I am no longer the same person I was before hosting my show.

As the new General Manager I want to celebrate The Roar. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the station. The Roar has been made up of an extremely passionate staff and their dedication is the reason the station has been around for so long. I plan to dedicate this year to the DJs for all their hard work.

There will be a party to celebrate the 30th anniversary with live performances from local bands and our own DJ’s. With events like this and many more throughout the semester, the E-board and I hope to make events catered to our staff for them to celebrate 30 years of our wonderful station.
