Saving money and preventing stress from the coronavirus pandemic has been made a lot easier thanks to free or discounted services.
From free food delivery to free WiFi, companies are providing customers with services and products to help make quarantine a little easier.
Read below for all of the details.
Food
UberEats
UberEats, the food delivery service, is waiving its Delivery Fee from independent restaurants. The company is also offering contactless deliveries to limit exposure between individuals.
Chipotle
The Mexican-style restaurant chain is offering free delivery on orders of over $10 until Mar. 31. Orders can be made through their website or on the Chipotle app.
Pollo Tropical
The Miami-based chain that sells Caribbean and South American cuisine is giving free delivery for all orders made through its app or website until Apr. 3. No minimum purchase required.
Red Lobster
The Orlando-based American casual dining chain is giving free delivery for website orders until Mar. 29. Orders must be $30 minimum and cannot be used with any other offer.
KFC
The American fast food restaurant chain is offering free delivery until Apr. 26. Customers can order from KFC through its website or through the food delivery apps, Grubhub or Seamless.
Moe’s Southwest Grill
The Mexican-style restaurant chain is offering free delivery on its app and website of orders over $10 until Apr. 10.
Denny’s
The American diner-style restaurant chain has waived its delivery fees until Apr. 12. Offer is valid with $5 minimum orders on Denny’s website and app.
Internet Services
XFinity Wifi
The wireless service provider is offering two free months of service for new Internet Essential customers. They are also offering free access to its Xfinity Wifi hotspots for 60 days and waiving late fees for customers who cannot pay their bills on time.
Student Services
U-Haul
The moving and storage rental company is offering 30 days of free storage to students who have been displaced from their dorms. Students must present their college IDs at any U-Haul location in order to claim the offer.
Adobe
The software company is providing free at-home access to Creative Cloud apps to students. To request temporary access, an IT admin from the institution must fill out this form. Once verified, students will have access until May 31.
Discord
The chatting platform is increasing the limit for the amount of people who can view a livestream and screen share from 10 to 50 people at once.
Google Hangouts
Google is offering G Suite customers free access to their advanced Meet features. Customers can host meetings with up to 250 participants, live stream to up to 100,000 viewers, and record and save meetings to Google Drive until Jul. 1.
LinkedIn Learning
To make working remotely easier, LinkedIn Learning is offering 16 of its courses for free for nonstudents. The courses include tips on how to use virtual meeting platforms like Zoom and Skype, how to stay productive and how to build relationships while social distancing. FIU students have full access to the website to learn different skills, like photography and Adobe.
Streaming Services
Disney Plus
The video streaming service offers a week of free access, but if you switch to Verizon Fios, an Internet access, telephone and television service, you can have a free trial for a year.
Cell Phone Providers
AT&T
The cable, phone and media company is suspending the termination of wireless, home phone or broadband services for customers who cannot pay bills because of the coronavirus. AT&T is also waiving related late fees, providing free access to its public WiFI hot spots, and is giving unlimited data to its consumer home internet wireline customers and fixed wireless internet customers.
Verizon
The telecommunications company is waiving late fees and is suspending service terminations for customers affected by the pandemic.
T-Mobile
The mobile phone service provider is providing unlimited data to all current customers who have plans with data for the next 60 days, while also providing additional data to mobile hotspot users.
Fitness Apps
Down Dog
The iPhone and iPad fitness apps are all free until Apr. 1. Down Dog has five apps to keep your quarantine active and healthy: Yoga for Beginners, Yoga, HIIT, Barre and 7 Minute Workout.
Local and National Journalism
The following newspapers and websites are either free or have brought down their paywall to provide accurate and up-to-date information and updates about the coronavirus pandemic.
