Movie Review: Don’t blink or you’ll miss Inferno

Ever since The Da Vinci Code movie came out in 2006, I was hooked with the storyline of Robert Langdon. From his way of being able to analyze every single scenario in seconds, and knowing every single coding combination in order to solve a riddle, he has to be one of the best characters ever written in a novel.

On Oct. 28, the third installment of Langdon’s storyline was released on the movie screen.

Now, it’s no secret that books will always be better than the movies because they describe the details with more precision but that doesn’t mean all movies that come from a book are going to be bad.

The author of the series, Dan Brown, based his book series on religious situations, from his first installment focusing on the Holy Grail, to the last installment centered on Dante’s Inferno, these books/movies are educational as well as actioned packed.

After watching Inferno this past weekend, I can say that my expectations were met. From the beginning the mystery of what had happened to Langdon, played by Tom Hanks, came into play when we first saw him in a hospital bed suffering from retrograde amnesia and people are already attempting to kill him, all in the first 10 minutes of the movie.

Throughout the movie, we see Langdon trying to recover his memory, with the help of the doctor that was treating him, while figuring out why people were trying to kill him in the first place.

In the end, it all came down to a plague being released to the world in order to kill half of the planet’s population in order to avoid extinction; all formulated by an organization believing in the betterment of Earth.

The overall movie was incredibly enjoyable, but if you turn around for a second, you get lost in what happened because everything goes on extremely fast.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch an action packed film and at the same time doesn’t mind learning a bit about art and religious history.
