Valentine’s Day is finally over, but it doesn’t mean that the events are slowing down from here. Things are only getting started.

Here is round up for this week’s events happening. There are a multitude of mental health workshops, game nights, and Black History Month happenings taking place. 

Monday, Feb. 15

Managing Relationship Conflicts Workshop

Every relationship brings its own sets of conflicts. Sometimes, all we need is a bit of guidance on how we can overcome them. FIU’s Counseling and Psychological Services is hosting an event focusing on ways to better relationships while learning to address and resolve conflicts.

Black Mental Health Check-In

The Black Student Union is hosting a seminar to discuss the traumas the black community faces and its effect on mental health. Mental health counselor Kristian A.Holmes will be leading the discussion.

Zen and the Art of Re-visioning History

Author of A Black Women’s History of the United States Dr. Kali Nicole Gross and FIU Senior Associate Dean Dr. Heather Russell to discuss their latest book Zen and The Art of Revisioning. This work centers around the stories of black women to shine a spotlight on the centuries of oppression they’ve faced and while advocating for the resistance of systemic racism and sexism.

Game Night With Among Us

The Black Student Union is bringing a fun night of Among Us to everyone in celebration of Black History Month. Students will be able to play with each other to determine the identity of the impostor. Be careful! Not everyone may be what they seem.

Relay For Life Hosts a decorating party to honor and celebrate those who’ve had cancer.

Tuesday, Feb. 16

Outreach Picnic Party

The Student Programming Council will hold a special picnic party on campus where students can ask various questions about the organization. The first 100 students to attend will receive free food, cutlery, and a picnic basket.

Dune Planting With Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society
