Jackson Health System has partnered with FIU and several South Florida colleges and universities to launch its first COVID-19 vaccination program in Miami-Dade County.

“We have ample appointments, and all students will be able to sign up for a vaccine shot on their own,” according to an email sent out by Lidia Amoretti-Morgado, media relations manager at Jackson Health System.

Through the program students both, Florida residents and international students will have the opportunity to receive the Pfizer vaccine offered by the hospital.

In order to make an appointment students must go to the portal online at JacksonHealth.org and select an appointment at one of the three locations offered:

  • Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center.
  • Jackson South Medical Center.
  • North Dade Health Center.

Students are required to present a valid form of ID such as a driver’s license or passport in to receive the vaccine.

Other universities including Barry University, Florida Memorial University, Miami-Dade College and the University of Miami will also partner with Jackson Health System in this new initiative.

“Our partners at Jackson Health System were instrumental in helping us to secure vaccine doses for our faculty and staff who were eligible under the Governor’s Executive Order earlier this year. We are excited for this opportunity to get students vaccinated,” said Javier Marques FIU vice president for operations and safety. “Thank you to CEO Carlos Migoya and the entire Jackson Health System team for the thought and effort involved in this partnership work.”
