Student Programming Council of Biscayne Bay Campus hosts killer comedy show

By Amanda Bazil

The Student Programming Council at Biscayne Bay Campus hosted it’s funniest comedy show event yet by entertaining FIU students with the famous MTV show, Wild ‘N Out.

Justina Valentine, Conceited and RIP Michael were the only cast members from the show present.

It would’ve been awesome to see some of my favorites out there, like DC Young Fly or Timothy DeLaGhetto, but that didn’t stop the laughs from coming.

The night started off with FIU’s very own DJ Juice filling the entire room with popular tunes that appealed to everyone.

He was setting the tone for nothing but good vibes and the crowd was feeding off of his infectious energy.

Justina Valentine took command of the stage, and felt like the mood was missing something so she ordered a twerk off. The audience wasted no time in declaring a winner who was crowned the twerking champion of FIU, although I believe that this title is still up for grabs.

RIP Michael entered the stage and warmed up the crowd up with a few jokes. Nobody was safe as he targeted a few members in the audience and roasted them mercilessly, but what could you expect at a Wild N’ Out event?

Once the crowd was ready, so were the teams. Both the red and black squad took their place as the team captains assumed their roles. Justina Valentine and Conceited was on the red squad, and RIP Michael’s was on the black squad.

Some of my most favorite games like “Family Reunion,” “Pick Up and Kill It,” and the “Freestyle Battle” were done that night.

I am proud to say that I can finally mark off my bucket list attending a Wild N’ Out event and singing along to the words, “at the family reunion who we introducing.”

I think I’m even more happy at the fact that once it was time for the Freestyle battle round, I was able to hear Conceited declare his famous command, “cut the beat ,” to DJ Juice.

Although the squads consisted of the some of the unfunniest people I’ve ever heard, the in between moments were incredible. Whether it was how in sync the attitudes of the audience was or the sheer vulgarity of a joke, there were plenty of moments that make you want look over your shoulder to see if the Dean was going to pull the plug.

The humor was raw, uncut and uncensored and that’s what I absolutely loved about it.

I thought Wild N’ Out was good on TV, but witnessing something on TV versus in person really impacts one’s experience, and the latter is definitely worth experiencing.

Like I said before, we didn’t have the entire cast present, and the FIU students who made up the black and red squads obviously weren’t professionals, yet this Wild N’ Out comedy show was hands down the best comedy show FIU BBC has ever done.
