After more than three days, democrat Joe Biden has defeated President Donald Trump and will become the 46th president of the United States.
Along with his victory, senator Kamala Harris will become the 49th Vice President, making a historic win as the first female woman of color to hold the second-highest office in the nation.
With 290 electoral votes, Biden secured his presidential nomination, while Trump was left with 214 votes according to elections results provided by The Associated Press.
